Hill End Ski Resort - Edinburgh

Ski resort just out of Edinburgh sometimes there is a lift operating for the ski slope and a chairlift for the bike trail.  The hill is very steep in places and some areas are easier. It is used by some boarders from Edinburgh.

The tow for the ski centre is always running and cost around £8 for two hours...you can run up the tow, but they some times get a bit iffy they used to be ok but things change...

The chairlift takes a while and is not always running when the mountain bike trail was used they got were not happy, there is a kicker but the run in was potholed and there was a gap jump but due to use by bikes there was an uneven surface and concaved in the middle, half way down the hill there is a sudden sloped (dipped) section which can be ollied off of...not much air and there are signs up saying watch out for Mountain bikers - dont hit them...the signs they might hurt...

Glentress Forest, nr Peebles

Lots of very fast logging tracks, which are gravel packed with hairpins. There is also plenty of broad and narrow forest tracks, that are the longest i've found near Edinburgh. It's between 30 and 45 minutes away from Edinburgh depending on your driving style.

Directions:  Go into Peebles from the north to a mini roundabout, there's a garage on the left, turn left. It's a couple of miles on the left, there's sign posts.
