Mountainboard Trick List
Off Road Boards or mountainboards are very versatile machines. Some riders enjoy high speed cruising down roads, others prefer wide open grassy slopes, many enjoy the fast turns, berms and rollers along with the other obstacles offered centres and tracks, but we get inquiries from riders whose main idea is to get air...Lots of the tricks done are virtually identical to those done on a snowboard but when your board weighs more it is a lot tougher to do some of these tricks.
Loads of riders have sent me emails about a trick list so I finally got round to starting one!
Some basics with almost any tricks are Grabs. For those totally clueless, A Grab is where the rider grabs their deck while up in the air. Most people understand rotations like 180's, 360's and flips but these are some of the basic grabs to get you going.... if you want to add to the list please email me...
Easier Grabs
Indy - The most basic grab. A grab in the middle of the deck on the toe edge with your back or front hand.
Method - With your knees bent and legs behind you, Your front hand grabs the heel edge, and the board is pulled up behind you, the higher you pull it, the more style.
Roastbeef - Put your back hand through your legs (onto the heel-side) and grab in the middle of the deck.
Nose-Grab - Some call this a truck driver - you grab your front axle with both hands and hold for as long as possible.
Tail-Grab - Grab your board's rear truck and hold.
Mute - With your front hand, grab just inside of your front foot. Tuck in you knees for more style.
Stalefish - Back hand grabs just inside your back foot. For additional style pull and lay your body parallel to the ground.
Melon - Front hand grabs deck near the middle on the heel side.
Advanced Grabs
Back Scratch - Grab with your back hand onto either the toe or heel edge near the back and pull up so the tires touch your back.
Japan - same as the Backscratch but with the front truck.
Kick Back - Grab Indy or mute then take out your back foot from the binding and um...kick back all relaxed like…Try put your foot back in your binding but mainly just try to get it on the board to land.
Stiffy - Indy grab then stick out your legs to the side so they're straight.
Crossbone - Grab just inside of your front foot on the heelside and pull the board up into a vertical position.
Much of the trick info. listed here was derived through looking at other trick lists. Thanks to all people who invented and contributed to this trick list.
